Alliance Française de Banjul welcomes Françoise Le Brusque, student at Gobelins, as part of a cross-residency alongside Batch Samba Njie and Aminata Khoussa.

Between fantasy and experimentation

Françoise Le Brusque, a second-year Game Art student at École des Gobelins, draws her creative inspiration from exploring fantasy and folklore. Her artistic universe builds around these timeless themes, which she revisits with a contemporary perspective.

Naturally curious, she enjoys experimenting with new subjects and discovering unfamiliar techniques. This openness constantly pushes her to challenge the limits of her practice and enrich her visual vocabulary.

A hybrid technical approach

Her work develops primarily through 2D, which she enhances with 3D techniques to create distinctive visual worlds. This hybrid approach finds expression in RE.bEARTH, her final year project that demonstrates her ability to blend mediums to serve her creative vision.

An enriching intercultural collaboration

This cross-residency with Batch Samba Njie (Gambia) and Aminata Khoussa (Senegal) represents a unique opportunity for Françoise to explore new creative territories. The encounter with West African cultures and their narrative traditions will nourish her approach to folklore and imagination.

École des Gobelins, where she pursues her studies, supports this collaboration that will allow the three creators to combine their expertise to produce a shared short animation.

Towards new creative horizons

For Françoise, this experience fits into her approach of constant experimentation. She will contribute her Game Art mastery and her vision of European folklore, while opening herself to African narratives and aesthetics.

This residency promises to be a creative laboratory where imaginations meet, techniques blend, and new forms of animated expression are born. A project that perfectly illustrates how art can transcend cultural boundaries.
