An artistic and linguistic project of the Alliance Française de Banjul
For two years now, the Alliance Française of Banjul has been collaborating with artist Moulaye and schools to highlight the ten words of the Francophonie through the creation of participatory murals.
The project came to life within the Alliance, on the walls of the students’ corner. The chosen theme honored sports, with words like offside or adrenaline, symbols of movement, self-improvement, and collectivity.
The project takes on a new dimension by going beyond the walls, with the creation of murals in nine schools across Gambia. This year, the chosen words – eco-conscious, canopy, palm grove, biome, among others – invite reflection on the environment, biodiversity, and ecological awareness.
