The Alliance Française de Banjul is delighted to host Amadou Diop, a Senegalese dancer and performer, for an artistic residency from May 1st to May 31st, 2025.
Originally from Saint-Louis, Senegal, Amadou is an emerging figure in contemporary and urban dance, using movement as a tool for empowerment and social exploration.
During his residency, he will continue developing his thought-provoking piece Mouton Noir, which explores themes of stigma and resilience through powerful and expressive gestures.
His journey is marked by prestigious training and collaborations:
Mouton Noir is a work that challenges social norms and exclusion mechanisms. Through this piece, Amadou Diop aims to give a voice to the invisible and to redefine the stage space for a broader audience.
Objectives of his Residency:
✔️ Refine his choreographic and stage approach.
✔️ Develop diffusion strategies for an international tour.
✔️ Engage with the Gambian audience through workshops and artistic encounters.
