BATUTA DGINGNOR: Portraits of Gambian Women

Enora Lalet’s Exhibition at Alliance Française de Banjul

– OPENING – On February 5, 2025, the French Alliance in Banjul invites you to discover Enora Lalet’s exhibition, created in collaboration with photographer Lena Nian.

During her January residency, Enora Lalet explored the world of Kenyeleng women, a group that asserts its place in society through rituals and symbolic objects. The “Batuta Dgingnor” exhibition (Magic Dolls in Mandinka) combines:

• Natural materials: beads, fabrics, shells
• Local medicinal plants: moringa, wonjo, baobab

An opening reception with hors d’oeuvres prepared by SpiceHub will conclude the event.
