French photographer Eugénie Baccot, winner of several prestigious awards including the CNAP grant and the Canon IWPA Discovery Award, returns to Banjul from February 6 to 28, 2025. Following her first residency in 2022, which allowed her to explore the Hakus and Krios communities while sharing her expertise with local young photographers, this new collaboration with the Alliance Française continues her work in Gambia.
During this new month-long stay, the documentary photographer will pursue her dual approach: developing a personal photographic project on Gambian territory while leading training workshops for local photographers. This residency will thus strengthen the ties forged during her first visit and deepen her photographic exploration of Banjul and its inhabitants.
