School Visits to Alliance Française of Banjul
Each month, the Alliance welcomes students for educational and cultural activities centered around the French language and culture.
October 2024
School: Brikama Upper and Senior Secondary School
Age: 13–16 years · Number of students: 81
Activities:
The students exchanged and participated in photo workshops with resident photographers Ina Makosi and Nadia Ferroukhi. Discovery of the media library, outdoor games, Just Dance, and recreational activities such as chess and video games punctuated the afternoon.
November 2024
School: Grace Bilingual School
Age: 07–12 years · Number of students: 80
Activities:
Discovery of digital tools at the media library, drawing and reading workshops, and an introduction to chess. The screening of the film “Les malheurs de Sophie” concluded this day.
December 2024
School: Abba Bilingual School
Age: 07–12 years · Number of students: 80
Activities:
The students attended the “Bestiole” show by the Djarama company, then participated in object theater and circus workshops. Chess sessions were also organized throughout the day.
January 2025
School: Bakoteh
Age: 12–15 years · Number of students: 82
Activities:
The day was marked by the BD concert “Les Vies Dansent” by Maryama Cham and the Cultural Vultures. The students also took part in chess workshops led by the Gift of Chess team.
February 2025
School: Bakau Upper Basic
Age: 11–15 years · Number of students: 70
Activities:
The students contributed to a collective mural with resident artists K2B and Naja, before being introduced to chess and participating in various creative workshops at the media library. The day ended with the screening of a French-language film.
April 2025
School: Spot Academy
Age: 10–15 years · Number of students: 80
Activities:
Photo & storytelling, theater, slam & writing, film screening, library workshops.
May 2025
School: Presentation of Mary (Brikama)
Activities:
Troll Company show in the conference room + 2 workshops.June 2025
