Air de Temps is a professional dance training project aimed at revealing and developing emerging talents from Senegal, Gambia, and Guinea-Bissau. Designed by Jant-Bi II company and led by choreographer Alesandra Seutin, this program offers young dancers an opportunity to transform their passion into a professional career.
From April 2 to May 3, 2025, 25 selected dancers will benefit from a four-week training at the École des Sables in Toubab Dialaw. This artistic immersion will allow them to develop their contemporary dance technical skills and acquire knowledge in cultural administration.
On Thursday, February 13, 2024, the Alliance Française de Banjul will welcome registered dancers. The program includes: an intensive three-hour masterclass with Alesandra Seutin, a meeting with company dancers, and a detailed presentation of the Air de Temps project.
Candidates will be auditioned during workshops in several cities: Kaolack and Ziguinchor in Senegal, Banjul in The Gambia, and Bissau in Guinea-Bissau. Selected dancers will participate in a final interview determining their program participation. It is therefore an important day on Thursday, February 13, 2024: the Alliance Française will open its doors to talented dancers, offering an opportunity to showcase their artistic skills.
Interested dancers can apply via the online form available until February 9, 2025 at 11:59 PM. The form is available via the direct link: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSc3pqvic0WGiSZL5NShDegcEZBjHBgM3odjrrD1YWQe1Qwblg/viewform?usp=sharing
The program is addressed to dancers aged 18 to 35, from Senegal, Gambia, or Guinea-Bissau, motivated by a professional career in contemporary dance.
This opportunity represents more than a simple training: it is a springboard towards an international artistic career, a chance to develop talents and contribute to the cultural dynamics of the region.
