Alliance Française’s team is delighted to welcome Fanny Boimare, also known as K2B, for an artistic residency in February 2025. This project is funded by the French Embassy in Senegal and Gambia and implemented by the Alliance as part of the « We together for women’s empowerment » project: promoting women’s expression through arts, culture, debate, and entrepreneurship.
K2B is a professional graffiti artist whose talent is recognized nationally and internationally. Since 2015, she has been involved in various projects, including collaborations with individuals, festivals, and other significant events across France. Her work primarily focuses on creating portraits, including the famous series of 20 portraits of impactful women in Elbeuf.
During her residency in Banjul, K2B will undertake an ambitious artistic project: creating 10 portraits of women in the Gambian public space, specifically in Serrekunda and Banjul. This project will feature 4 portraits of Gambian women, 4 portraits of African women, and 2 portraits envisioned by the artist, demonstrating her commitment to recognizing and celebrating female diversity.
The people living in Banjul will have the opportunity to discover and appreciate K2B’s captivating works in their city streets, fostering enriching cultural exchange and unique artistic exploration. To follow this initiative closely, we invite you to visit the artist’s Instagram by clicking here.
We extend our sincere gratitude to the French Embassy for their financial support and essential collaboration in realizing this ambitious project. This initiative not only showcases urban art but also promotes women’s empowerment through creativity and artistic expression.
