{"id":3933,"date":"2024-07-03T09:50:36","date_gmt":"2024-07-03T07:50:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/afbanjul.org\/?p=3933"},"modified":"2025-04-04T19:07:26","modified_gmt":"2025-04-04T17:07:26","slug":"photography-residency-october-2024-ina-makosi","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/afbanjul.org\/en\/residence-en\/photography-residency-october-2024-ina-makosi\/","title":{"rendered":"[PHOTOGRAPHY] RESIDENCY OCTOBER 2024 \u2013 Ina Makosi"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>We are pleased to welcome photographer Ina Makosi for an artistic residency at the Alliance Fran\u00e7aise de Banjul from October 1st to 31st, 2024. <strong>Coming from Senegal, Ina Makosi is known for her commitment to photography, exploring various subjects such as sports, urban cultures, women&#8217;s daily lives, and the environment.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During her residency, Ina Makosi will focus on a compelling photographic project: <strong>the emancipation of Gambian women.<\/strong> Her goal is to create a series of unique photographs to be presented in an exhibition at the end of her residency. Additionally, she will conduct three interactive &#8220;public interventions,&#8221; each lasting 2 to 3 hours. These diverse events will include meetings and sharing experiences with young Gambian photographers, as well as special sessions with students and women&#8217;s groups to showcase her work and discuss the themes explored.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thus, her stay at Alliance Fran\u00e7aise de Banjul promises not only to capture the reality and diversity of Gambian women&#8217;s experiences but also to foster enriching exchanges within the local artistic and educational community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>This project is funded by the French Embassy in Senegal and The Gambia and implemented by the Alliance as part of the &#8220;We together for women&#8217;s empowerment&#8221; project: promoting women&#8217;s expression through the arts, culture, debate and
