The movie The Little Girl Who Sold the Sun, by Djibril Diop Mambéty, adpatated in cine-concert by Tchookar !

A unique cine-concert at Alliance Française de Banjul

On Friday 3rd March, at 8PM, the French artists cooperative Tchookar will produce its cine-concert of The Little Girl Who Sold the Sun on Alliance’s outdoor theater. The music will be played by Oriki, a formation crossing african and arab musics, and Woz Kaly, senegalese singer who has an international career.

 

Through their hot and colorful compositions, musicians echo the determination of the main character, Sili, as well as the poetry of the ordinary shot by Mambèty. It’s captivating cine-concert, a journey in the heart of Dakar, a tribute to little people.

 

The Little Girl Who Sold the Sun is an urban tale which present, with a focus on accessibility and lightness, the reality of Dakar streets and the everyday life of children who try each day to survive them.
